Custom Pork Shares Available

We have several Half and Whole Shares available for purchase. 2023.

Our pigs are hand raised here on our Whidbey Island farm from a very young age. We rotate them between the different wooded & meadow paddocks on our land and supplement them with Non-GMO organically raised feed with probiotics and minerals, a well as organic scraps from our garden and Skagit Food Co-op.

This is not your grocery store pork and consequently the price is not calculated as such. Purchasing a share of the animal means you are paying the farmer (us) to raise it for you. Each share will include an itemized invoice breaking out the costs of feeding the animal, butchering, cutting, wrapping and curing/smoking. Each share is priced differently based on the animal size (hanging weight) and curing options.

Whole Share - $6/pound hanging weight plus cut/wrap/butcher fees

Half Share - $6.50/pound hanging weight plus cut/wrap/butcher fees

$100 deposit to reserve your share. Please email Brandi@otbfarmstead.com for details and to reserve your share! Cut sheets due by June 5.

#OTBPork Shares Open for Reservation

We will start accepting reservations for the final 2021 shares of #OTB Pork on May 1. Our pork usually sells out quickly and has proven to satisfy the taste buds of all who have eaten our pork. Your whole share can be secured with a $250 deposit; half or quarter shares may be reserved with $100 deposit.

Whole and half shares can be customized to the cuts you choose. A quarter share is a smaller variety of the larger share and includes these cuts: roast, ribs, pork chops/steaks, sausage or ground pork and of course, BACON!

We strongly believe that “you are what you eat,” and you can be assured that our animals eat the best food possible, in addition to roaming our forest. We feed only organic feed and produce. We use no chemical inputs. Taste the difference and reserve your family a share of #OTBPork today!

Tayze's Tomatoes

Tayze’s Tomatoes is a gift to our community in honor of my childhood BFF, Tayze Dunae.

Tayze lost her battle with Type 1 Diabetes on April 2, 2015, 2 weeks shy of her 2nd kidney transplant. While she lived with this terrible disease from age 8, she never let it define her and she continued to live her life outside the box.

When I asked her what she was most excited to eat after so much time on dialysis, she said home grown tomatoes. I told her she was in luck as I had just gotten a greenhouse and had 100 seedlings started!!

She never made it to her surgery. And never ate any of my tomatoes. She died of a hemorrhagic stroke on April 1, 2015.

In her honor, I raise and sell tomatoes. The proceeds of this sale go to a family that is affected by Type 1 Diabetes.

This year we have 3 types and 10 varieties of slicing, paste & cherry tomatoes. I'll be spotlighting the different types of tomatoes on our Facebook page between now and May 1.

If you know a family whose life is impacted by T1D, please feel free to nominate them. Send an email with their story of life with T1D to brandi@otbfarmstead.com.

And mark your calendar for May 1!

Tayze's Tomatoes

Join us on the farm on Saturday, May 2 to get your tomato plants. We will have several varieties of heirloom tomatoes in various sizes for your garden, whether it’s big or small or on a patio. We will have organic fertilizer and literature on successfully growing tomatoes in NW Washington Maritime Climate.

In honor of my childhood BFF, Tayze, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a local family with a child living with Type 1 Diabetes. Tayze was 8 when diagnosed and lost her battle in 2015 at age 43, just 2 weeks before her 2nd kidney transplant. In her short life, she lived big and I am honored to keep her memory alive.

Pending the timeline on the COVID-19 quarantine, we hope we will be BBQing up some fabulous #OTBPork, enjoying Rhubarb Lemonade and just might have some piglets to swoon over! Check our Facebook page for more details as we navigate these uncharted waters.
